A guys perspective on tech, style, health & relationships

Nikon Coolpix S3100

The lean and mean Nikon Coolpix S3100 is a 14-megapixel compact camera. Measuring only 2.3 in. high, 3.7 in. wide and 0.8 in. thick, this little machine packs a big punch. It carries an EXPEED processor for improved video recording with  high-sensitivity performance image quality and a NIKKOR wide-angle 5x zoom optical lens for richly detailed, high resolution shots. It has a 2.7 inch LCD screen and records video at 720p. It packs 45 MB of internal memory and slot for memory cards such as SD, SDHC and SDXC.

The rear LCD screen has an anti-reflection coating and provides brightness adjustments for viewing even under direct sunlight. The VR (Vibration Reduction) reduces camera shake. High ISO light sensitivity (up to 3200) reduces the risk of shooting blurred images of quickly moving subjects or one in low light. Motion detection compensates for camera shake and subject movement. Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically selects the sharpest image in a sequence of up to 10 shots. And get this: the Smile Timer takes the shot when your chosen subject smiles. Blink Proof alerts you when someone has their eyes closed. Skin Smoothing adjusts uneven skin tones on people faces.  There are 19 Scene Modes, including Portrait, Party, Landscape, and Sunset—all of which automatically adjust camera settings to specific scenes. And it features AF Subject Tracking which focuses on a selected subject, even when it is in motion.

This little guys has an MSRP of $ 139. But I’ve seen them go for cheap at dealfun.com.  Check them out…
